Young Professionals of Manhattan Raise $20,000 for Breast Cancer Research

On February 3, 2004, a three-hour wine tasting was held at the PUBLIC restaurant in New York City. The inaugural event was organized by the newly formed Play for P.I.N.K. Young Professionals (PFPYP), created to fill a niche—young, ambitious career women and men who are looking for a hands-on way to support breast cancer prevention and awareness. The event sold out with 200 guests in attendance, offered dozens of silent auction items such as private wine classes and luxury golf getaways, and raised in excess of $20,000 for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. "I was overwhelmed by the generosity of our sponsors, wine donors, PUBLIC, guests, and the enthusiasm of our volunteers, " noted co-chair Kristin Miljus Kelly.
