P.I.N.K. All Star – Bryna Sweedler

Our July P.I.N.K. All Star is Bryna Sweedler from Fairview Country Club in Greenwich, Connecticut who is organizing her 11th Play for P.I.N.K. tournament.

Here is Bryna’s story:  What’s rewarding and wonderful is that it has become a popular day on the club calendar.  The whole staff pitches in and enthusiastically does whatever they can to make the day special. As for our members, so many of them look forward to participating and/or to contributing to the mission – breast cancer research. They know how important research is and the good that it can do for all of us. The work being done by our Play for P.I.N.K. grant recipients not only helps those afflicted with breast cancer, but those stricken with other cancers as well.

On Play for P.I.N.K. Day, the atmosphere at Fairview is festive and purposeful. Everyone has a good time while remaining focused on a goal – supporting research to combat a disease that has affected so many of our lives.

On a personal level, I find it energizing and satisfying to join with friends and acquaintances to support a cause so near and dear to my heart. My mother and two of my maternal aunts had breast cancer.  Both my mother-in-law and my mother went to their graves with one breast.  I do this for them.
