P.I.N.K. All Stars – The Dunes Golf & Tennis Club

Gussie Blue from The Dunes Golf & Tennis Club in Sanibel, Florida has been an ardent support of Play for P.I.N.K. for many years. Thanks to her leadership, their annual event raises more money for breast cancer research every year.

Our PINK day is true example of teamwork as every member along with staff is involved. The GM got approval from the owners to not charge for golf; our secretary does an amazing job of printing up Silent Auction paperwork; the chef works on a special PINK entrée; the head of Food and Beverage arranges our outdoor pavilion to feed over 120 while we are out golfing and our Pro helps to organize the day and lends us staff to hit balls on different holes in order to raise additional money.

So, as you can see, this entire club staff is responsible for our success. This, of course, backed by the six weeks of effort of our committee and all our friends who will say YES!

We remain committed to the mission of Play for P.I.N.K. as nearly 20% of our league have had breast cancer. I lost my paternal grandmother, my best friend from Juniors and my daughter-in-law to the disease, and, my tennis team member was recently diagnosed. The entire membership realizes that funding research is the only way we can make a difference in the lives of those near to us and. In addition, we feel good knowing that 100% of what we raise goes directly into the hands of the scientists working tirelessly to find the next breakthrough.
