Pros for P.I.N.K. – Bass Rocks Golf Club

Peter Hood, General Manager and Director of Golf at Bass Rocks Golf Club in Gloucester, Massachusetts has been a long-time supporter of the club’s annual Play for P.I.N.K. tournament. Here is Peter’s story and why he remains committed to our mission.

With my mother being a two-time cancer survivor, research is quite important to me. Having had both thyroid and breast cancer, she is the most courageous and toughest woman I know.

Bass Rocks has several fundraising components throughout the club including a 50/50 raffle, auction and closest to the pin contest, although our tee and green sponsorship is the largest revenue producer.

For several years, we have been fortunate to have a past LPGA Champion, Donna Caponi (pictured above), join us for the day. She greets all of our players on one of the Par 3’s and hits a shot that the ladies can use.

One way to raise additional money is to let your members bring a guest for the day. It’s a great way to show the camaraderie and to show off your club to outsiders.

I truly enjoy seeing everyone dressed in pink, including the golf shop staff, and getting together for a great cause. This is nothing new for our members as we raise money for everyone in need.
