Pros for P.I.N.K. – Montammy Golf Club

Mike Burke from Montammy Golf Club in New Jersey considers himself one of the lucky ones in that cancer has not had a direct impact on his family.  Because it has affected his members, he is happy to help with Montammy’s annual Play for P.I.N.K. event.  Here is Mike’s story regarding his involvement with Play for P.I.N.K.:

Our Play for P.I.N.K. committee raises money with three levels of sponsorships, selling signs for the golf course and tennis courts, as well as pink flag sticks. They have vendors, raffles and a drink of the season (the club donates $1 per drink). Also, the event is open to guests. But, that’s not all.  There are mulligans, a tennis clinic and a golf clinic. For the men, we have Partner with the Pro. When I play an outside tournament, the men pledge an amount for each birdie I make in competition. At the end of the season, it really adds up.

This year we’re offering a Closest to the Pin contest where, for a $25 entry fee, the winner will receive free golf carts for their rounds for one month. And, there’s free yoga if you just sign up for lunch.

Our participation percentage is pretty high which I believe is due to the Montammy Chairs, and the women who make up their committee have been extremely dedicated to making it a success. I’m proud to work alongside these women and be part of such a feel-good do-good event. I’m proud to be P.I.N.K.
