To begin the new year, we have chosen Dan Terlescki from Old Palm Country Club in Florida as our January Pro for P.I.N.K. Dan is an integral part of P.I.N.K.’s success at the club.
I’ve been fortunate. I have not been personally impacted by cancer, but some of those close to me have confronted various forms of the disease.
At Old Palm we sold tee signs in addition to our entry fees and increased participation by including men in the event. We also hosted a Canasta Event in conjunction with our golf tournament. Needless to say, we were most appreciative of all the additional donations that contributed to our total.
I was invited to attend the Play for P.I.N.K. annual meeting in Florida and was so glad I did. Chairs and Pros from other clubs shared what they did. What worked and what didn’t. I picked up a lot of great ideas about how to fundraise – emphasis on the fun – and intend to add much more to our event next year.
Many of our members have been personally affected by cancer. This is why Play for P.I.N.K. is an event the entire membership wants to continue to support and grow. I am proud of our efforts and we are committed to raising more money each year by making the event bigger and better.
