Pros for P.I.N.K. – Colleton River Plantation

Our February Pro for P.I.N.K. is Matt Lucchesi, from Colleton River Plantation in Bluffton, South Carolina.  Like so many others, Matt’s family has been impacted by cancer and why he continues to devote his time to funding research.

Both my sister and my mother have been diagnosed with breast cancer. Needless to say, helping to raise money to fund life-saving research via Play for P.I.N.K. is important to me personally. Aside from entry fees, our professional staff donates free lessons as auction items. We also reach out to other clubs in our area who generously donate rounds of golf as auction items. On the day of play, we offer a “trick” bag which can be purchased by each player. This bag includes a mulligan, a free toss, a red tee which allows the player to hit from the red tees once during the round and a couple of other goodies. Like most clubs, we do have members who don’t play golf. Since we want to give the entire membership the opportunity to participate, we’ve created a tennis event as well as something for those who prefer playing cards. That way, everyone has the chance to have a great day while doing a good deed by donating to Play for P.I.N.K. I truly enjoy this day. It’s great to see so many people rally around such a wonderful, personal cause. I’m glad to be able to assist in making Colleton River’s Play for P.I.N.K. event so successful.
