P.I.N.K. All Star – Beth Hornstein
National Advisory Board member, Beth Hornstein, doesn’t organize just one Play for P.I.N.K. fundraiser, but takes on three separate events in her home state of New Jersey. We are indebted to Beth’s passion for PINK, and are proud to feature her as this month’s P.I.N.K. All Star.
I have been participating in PINK events for 15 years because it is a great organization. The best part about Play for P.I.N.K. is knowing 100% of all proceeds goes directly to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
Everyone knows someone who has had breast cancer – a grandma, mom, aunt, or friend. Working with PINK has been great – they are always very helpful and go out of their way to ensure my events are successful.
Many of the same guests have been attending for 15 years. It’s an important cause to get people together and everyone in the community is always very supportive.
I have several personal connections to the disease – my aunt, cousin, and friends have had breast cancer. My involvement with PINK started when my friend’s mother passed away from breast cancer and she asked me to help with the event that, at the time, she was chairing at our club. We have since spread the word from Shackamaxon Country Club to Hamilton Farm Golf Club to an annual walk in Scotch Plains and I could not be more proud of what we have accomplished.
