Pros for P.I.N.K. – The Bridges of Rancho Santa Fe

Steve Wilson at The Bridges of Rancho Santa Fe in California has been involved in the planning of their annual Play for P.I.N.K. event from day one. We are happy to share Steve’s experience with Play for P.I.N.K. this month.

Everyone has been affected by cancer in some way. I have lost two Aunts to this disease, one just this year. At The Bridges, which has run a Play for P.I.N.K. event since 2010, our membership is committed to the cause. Aside from entry fees, we offer silent auction items, raffle prizes, miracle putts and, of course, mulligans.

We’ve found that silent auctions are a great way to raise funds. Most of the golf club companies are eager to jump in and help. A day with the Pro at a local course has helped raise significant money, in addition to raffle prizes like spa treatments, lessons from the Pros, and chef dinners which are quite popular.

This year the entire membership was included and enjoyed tremendous success. The Play for P.I.N.K. day at The Bridges was truly an EVENT! It brought new and experienced golfers together. Everyone who participated had a really great time while supporting a very worthy cause. What started out as a women’s only tournament has grown into a member-wide happening.

We all know that Play for P.I.N.K. is about lifesaving research. We all know the good that our contribution is making. And we all work really hard for the day to be successful. My best advice? MAKE IT FUN!!
